Conference Focus Areas
This first AIN conference in Germany offers three main topics
from the 3rd until the 5th of October:
THE ART OF LEADERSHIP
Getting insights into train the trainer programs, leadership development programs, cases from education, arts, business and health using Applied Improvisation.
THE ART OF SCIENCE
Lectures and workshops from interdisciplinary researchers and their perspectives on Applied Improvisation or connected fields e.g. resilience, effectuation, brain and art based research.
THE ART OF A(IN) CULTURE
How to create a resilient culture? What makes a resilient culture special? What are local differences and similarities? Strengths and weaknesses? How can we create a resilient glocal community for future purposes? Let´s start for example with the AIN itself!
There will be a mix of plenaries, presentations, workshops, open spaces, stages and other surprises.

Learning Journeys on October 2nd
This year we have embraced the theme “THE ART OF LEADERSHIP” and will experience how certain arts will effect our understanding of leading, following, stewarding and improvising. That´s the reason we expect that almost everyone will take part in all four days of the conference!We will be going out into areas and places of Berlin to go on learning journeys. The learning journeys will explore how improv is being applied in settings all over many different kind of arts.
1) Movin´ Into Impro
Learning from Tango, contact improvisation, Action Theatre and other ways of moving storytelling about how improvisation works.
2) Free Jammin´
What Improvised music can teach you about the secrets of improvisation & creativity – you will experience it with different instruments and styles. Guided by first class musicians from jazz, pop and hip hop.
3) The Playful City !FULLY BOOKED!
Improvisation as an urban art form which helps to create an arrival city.
Using public spaces in new, creative ways for intercultural exchange and learning.
